October 21st Bismarck at Brookings
The Blizzard fell to the Bobcats 4-3 on Saturday night at the Larson Ice Center. Bismarck jumped out ahead with a goal at the thirteen minute mark of the first period. Jimmy Elser tied the game six minutes into the second on a slap shot from outside the circles for his 4th goal of the year. Bismarck took control later in the second when they scored two power play goals during a five minute man advantage. Vince Marino tipped in a shot from Elser as time was winding down in the second to pull the Blizzard within one at 3-2. Bismarck went back up by two goals 11 minutes into the third. Brookings pulled to within one on a Chase Brand goal off a rebound from Doug Larson with ten seconds left. Brookings was able to get another scoring chance, but Bismarck deflected a pass from Cam Babiak to Derek Hammer as time expired. Elser led the team with two points, and Parker Revering, Brendan Aird, Marino, Brand, Larson, and Babiak each had one point. Brookings will travel to Austin on Wednesday for morning battle.
