The Brookings Blizzard have beaten the Coulee Chill 4-2 Saturday night at the Larson Ice Center. Thomas Williams gave the Blizzard a 1-0 lead with 45 seconds left in the first on a shorthanded penalty shot. The Coulee Chill tied the game a minute forty-four into the second on a Sean Lang’s slap shot from the point. The third period started with Craig Lindegard scoring on a rebound off a shot from Justin Moody. Shortly thereafter, the Chill tied the game at two when Hunter Anderson scored on a feed assisted by Sean Lang. Then the Blizzard retook the lead when Micah Ranum slammed home his own rebound for a 3-2 Blizzard lead with nine minutes to play. The Chill pulled their goalie with just over a minute to play but Thomas Willams capped the night off intercepting a pass at the point and slid it in to the open net. Blizzard goaltender Erik Majerle (2-0) got the win Saturday night and made Central Division Player of the Week Honorable Mention. Blizzard forward Cody Marooney also was named Honorable Mention. The Blizzard (6-2) outshot the Chill 30-28, and host Austin Friday night at 7pm.
